The original footprint in this 1890's kitchen was small and cramped so we created a renovation plan that included an addition out the back to create a more spacious floorplan. Black framed windows both behind the sink and flanking the range flood the kitchen with natural light. For the cabinetry we chose a combination of white lower cabinets, glass front upper cabinets, wood floating shelves, and a black island. The ceiling is covered in white painted wood planks and a full wall brick backsplash was chosen behind the side cabinets, both to add some texture variation. Marble counters on all surfaces and a marble slab backsplash behind the range keep the look cohesive and classic. The flatweave vintage rug protects the wood floor in front of the sink from spills and also adds color and pattern to the space. Warm brass light fixtures, faucet, and cabinet hardware are a rich, warm addition.
